ASHA's Assistants Code of Conduct is the framework to guide the SLPA in making ethical decisions. It is similar to the Code of Ethics established for SLPs and Auds. However, when comparing the two frameworks, there is not a Principle of Conduct dedicated to honoring the "responsibility to achieve and maintain the highest level of professional competence and performance" that is found in principle 2 of the Code of Ethics. This leads ² questions:
a) Does the Principle of Conduct address the responsibility to achieve and maintain the highest level of competence and performance for the SLPA?
b) If so, list the Principle of Conduct number and Conduct Fundamental letter that is found in the Code of Conduct to support your answer.
