Militarism was the key cause to almost every war in human history (such as both World Wars). Because the North Vietnamese, or the Viet Cong, were sizing up their armies, the South Vietnamese and the Americans then saw that as a threat to the stability of South Vietnam. They then sized up their armies and the war started due to the Viet Cong increasing the size of their armies.
