PIGS IN BLANKET is the name given to small sausages wrapped in bacon, a staple at a British Christmas dinner. The small sausages are usually chipolatas which is common in the United Kingdom.

Pigs in blanket are the traditional accompaniment to roast turkey for Christmas dinner. They serve as trimmings. It can also be served as appetizer or hors d'oeuvre and can be accompanied with devils on horseback, an appetizer of prunes wrapped in bacon.

It is easy to prepare. Just wrap a small sausage with a slice of streaky bacon and skewer it with cocktail stick to keep it in shape then roast in a pre-heated oven.
