Why is it important for a young person to have a thymus? The thymus produces hormones that help children grow. The thymus helps develop the immune system in children. The thymus helps children increase red blood production. The thymus allows children to breathe more easily.

It is really important for a young person to have a thymus, because it is an organ that is involved in development of cells of the immune system.. A person born without it will not develop a strong immune system and will probably die. So your answer is B.
